Building Resilient Lives

The Children & Family Advocacy Center works with children who have experienced abuse and women, and their children, in crisis to help them heal from trauma. The Center offers an individualized and comprehensive approach to healing through services offered. All clients seen at CFAC receive these services, from advocacy to counseling, free of charge. Additionally, our residential programming offers long-term shelter as part of our restorative process.

A team of trauma-informed staff work with clients to help them heal from trauma. We also have a dedicated team of experts in the field of crisis and trauma who work with local agencies, schools, and community partners to educate them on how to recognize and respond to abuse. For more information on our trainings please visit our training opportunities page.

Acute Response and Shelter

Our direct service programming is broken down into two components:

  • Acute Services: serving children who have experienced abuse or neglect. These services include advocacy for the child and non-offending family members, a forensic interview with a child-first trained interviewer, mental health counseling and ongoing support.
  • Residential Services: serving women in crisis, and their children, who are in need of long-term shelter combined with a restorative approach to healing which includes case management, advocacy and mental health support.

Education and Community Awareness

Our education team works with children and adults across Northwest Arkansas to teach the importance of body safety and prevention, recognizing and responding to signs of abuse or neglect, and learning how to help those experiencing trauma or crisis.
